Holes In The Somewhere is a collection of 13 speculative fiction tales covering the spectrum of grief, desperation, and survival –or not– in the face of sometimes supernatural, sometimes paranormal, sometimes man-made horrors.
A single mother finds insanity in the worst possible person; an estranged father puts his life and family back together only to lose them to a mysterious bathroom wall; a group of strangers fight for humanity’s survival against a fungal epidemic; aliens attack and some survive unexpectedly, while others do not; reflections decide to sit in judgement of their corporeal actions; a father’s promise transcends death; a forest is haunted by an unexpected object; an atheist discovers the afterlife; college students take a terrible course in Death; a stepfather discovers some strange effects of love and its absence; a boy discovers some horrific truths about adults in his town; a widower faces a moral dilemma.
These stories are followed by a personal recollection of the author’s experience with grief after the passing of his father.
